Homework Folders
One thing I strive to do in third grade is to help instill healthy habits into their lives. One way to help with responsibility is with light homework. Homework is sent home every week in a red folder and is to be returned on Friday, filled out by the student and initialed by a parent or guardian.

Homework Packet |
Please log your reading every night! LOG EVERYTHING! Any reading you do counts! You should practice reading quietly to yourself, reading out loud to someone, and listening to audio recordings of stories. You can even read to your stuffed animals or pets!
|
I will also provide some extra practice pages to accompany the skills we are working on in class. These are to be completed throughout the week and returned in the red folder. Here you will find a list of our spelling words, math facts to practice, grammar practice, and math pages. These should be skills your child can do independently, but may need a little help at times!

Weekend Work
No homework is required over the weekends but for some, the weekends may be the best or only opportunity to get it done. We try to convey to students that it is a good habit to read for 20 minutes every day, even on the weekends! Red homework folders will go home on Fridays each week, so you can use weekend days if that's what works best for your family!
Homework Club
At the end of each month, there will be a special celebration or prize for those who brought their homework every week that month.
